It Only Ends Once

The day is finally here, ladies and gentlemen. Today is the day it finally ends. I woke up this morning and felt kind of bummed. I don't want Lost to end, it's like losing a friend. One thing is for sure, it's been a memorable six years.

No matter what happens tonight there is going to be a bunch of people that will be disappointed with the ending, because they didn't answer all of their questions. I've known for a long while that they can't possible answer everything and still make good TV. In fact, I didn't really want them to do an "all answer season," that would've been pretty boring. But I think we've had a sufficient amount of answers given, and I'm actually pretty satisfied. Sure, there are some fuzzy subjects, and maybe some things when re-watching the series that might not add up, but those are things you will still be able to theorize about, which has been one of the best parts about watching Lost from the first day it aired.

One thing I just can't understand, is how everyone is saying "if the end is crappy, it will ruin the whole series for me." A. The only way it could ruin the entire series for me is if it turns out to be Hurley's dream, or they are in a mental institution, or all in a snow globe type of ending. And that still probably wouldn't ruin the entire series. I would still love Lost, I just wouldn't love the ending. B. If you've been watching Lost this whole time just for the very last episode, I feel sorry for you. I've been thoroughly entertained for years watching Lost, and the last episode won't change all of the good times I've had watching the show. C. Bitches gon' bitch.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not making excuses for the show. I think this season has been great! There has been some thing's that I would've done differently, but not much. I'm super excited for The End, it's going to be awesome. I'm mostly intrigued by what is going on in the Sideways universe right now, if you can even call it a universe. I think that is going to be the big reveal for the last episode, the relation between the Sideways and the Island timeline. The thing that I wan't to happen the most, is character resolution. That is really what has made the show good. Mythology is great but when it comes down to it, Lost is about the survivors of Oceanic 815. How does their story end?

It's almost pathetic to think about how much I love Lost. But it's comforting to know that I'm not the only one out there. It's been a great journey, I've been with you from the very beginning and it's definitely a bittersweet ending. Fair well, Lost. You shall be missed.
